Kassie DePaiva Is the Awesomest

Quick post, checking in from ABC's Super Soap Weekend at Disney MGM Studios. Here's a shot taken after my interview with Kassie DePaiva (Blair, OLTL). She is one of the sweetest women I have ever met. I heart Kassie! BTW, I am 5'8", so you can see, she is a tall one!

From Harmony to Sin City

James Hyde, who plays the ruggedly handsome Sam Bennett, Harmony's fearless police chief on Passions, will be guest-starring on Las Vegas tomorrow night, Friday, Nov. 9. He joins former daytime hunk (now nighttime hunk) Josh Duhamel.

While I'm not sure exactly what James' role is, here is the episode description: "The Montecito hosts an environmentally friendly conference, making Delinda realize everyone should do their part to protect Mother Earth."

Kirsten Storms Cops a Plea

From TMZ.com:

General Hospital star Kirsten Storms had her own daytime drama play out in an L.A. courtroom today as her attorney, on her behalf, pleaded no contest to drunk driving charges.

The judge sentenced Kirsten to three years probation and ordered her to attend 12 AA meetings. That must start immediately, and she must attend two meetings per week. Storms' license was also suspended for six months, and she must pay a $390 fine.

If she fails to comply with these terms, she must serve 13 days in County Jail.

Storms was arrested in September after a CHP officer noticed a lit cigarette being thrown from her blue Mercedes. She was pulled over and the officer noticed an odor of booze in the car. After failing field sobriety tests, the actress was booked on DUI charges.

Disney/MGM Studios Super Soap Weekend 2007 Is Upon Us

Well, I just received my Press Schedule for ABC's Super Soap Weekend, which takes place this weekend at the Disney/MGM Studios. More than 30 stars from the ABC soaps will be there, with plenty of opportunities for fans to get up-close and personal with their favorite actors. I can't wait!

In the meantime, I've been working in overdrive getting myself prepared for my various interviews that I have lined up, as well as a jam-packed schedule at the theme park. (So, if my blog posting is a little light this week, that is why.)

But never fear -- faithful readers of our Daytime Dial Web site will be getting exclusive news, and, even better, exclusive pics, of all the goings-on this weekend. I will be interviewing Susan Lucci, Erika Slezak, Laura Wright, Kassie DePaiva and Rebecca Herbst, and will be riding in a motorcade with Alicia Minshew! Plus, lots more!

I am especially excited about the Saturday night "Party With the Stars" dinner that I have been invited to. All the stars, executives and press will be attending this exclusive party. I'll be taking plenty of pictures and getting lots of first-hand scoop to share with all of you.

Shoot me an e-mail (daytimedial@gmail.com), or respond in the comments section of this post, if you have any questions you'd like for me to ask any of the stars I named above. If appropriate, I'll try to fit them into my interviews.

AMC Alumnus Is the New Knight Rider

NBC has cast Justin Bruening (ex-Jamie Martin, All My Children) as the lead in a new Knight Rider 2-hour TV movie that, if picked up for the season, could revive the infamous '80 series, which featured Michael Knight and his talking Trans Am, KITT, fighting crime -- and looking foxy while doing it.

As reported in the Hollywood Reporter, the 28-year-old actor will play the son of Michael Knight, the character David Hasselhoff made famous.

The TV movie is being produced by The Bourne Identity director Doug Liman. He also might direct the pilot, if he can fit it not his schedule. NBC is shooting the telepic as a so-called backdoor pilot, meaning if the ratings are solid, it could become a series. No word yet on whether the Hoff will make a cameo in the new TV movie.
