The Young and the Restless Casts Familiar Faces

The No. 1 rated show in daytime, The Young and the Restless, is heating up -- and its cast is following suit. Word has come down that Nia Peeples (Fame and Walker, Texas Ranger) and Billy Warlock (Days of Our Lives, Baywatch and General Hospital) have signed on to play Nikki's and Jack's campaign managers, respectively.

As the race for the state Senate seat heats up, I'm sure Nia and Billy will play a big part in the outcome. Nia's first airdate is scheduled for April 18, while Billy shows up in Genoa City on May 7. May the best man -- or woman! -- win.

ATWT: Contest Offers Up Brad & Katie for Hire

Need those gutters cleaned? How about all that laundry that’s been piling up? I bet you never thought you could get a soap star to do it for you. Well, “As the World Turns” is offering up two of its biggest stars, Terri Colombino (Katie) and Austin Peck (Brad), to perform one of your least favorite household chores. Plus the lucky recipient will also be awarded $5000! All you have to do is write the winning original essay explaining why you think these two celebrities should visit your hometown and clean your ... (insert whatever chore you desire).

How did this idea evolve? “ATWT” excecutive producer Christopher Goutman explains: “Our viewers have been inviting ‘As The World Turns’ into their living rooms for over 50 years. We are so excited to make this a two-way interaction for the very first time and to literally bring ‘As The World Turns’ into a fan’s home.”

So, hurry up because the “Win a Day with Brad and Katie” contest begins Mar. 29th, and all entries must be received by 6 p.m. (ET) on April 12th. Visit http://www.oakdalenow.com/ for details.

Guiding Light

Do NOT miss Guiding Light on Wednesday, April 4th. That is all I am allowed to say on the subject. Trust me.

B&B and Y&R Milestones!

On Friday, March 23, The Bold and the Beautiful celebrated their 20th(!) anniversary of the of the show. I cannot believe I've known the Forresters and the Logans, etc., for two decades! I remember when they first debuted back in 1987 -- I was finishing up my 9th grade year in high school. I remember a story line that hit close to home for me was Katie Logan dealing with her acne/low self-esteem, as my friends and I were going through that torturous time of our lives, too. Thank goodness that went away, for all of us!

Not to be outdone, B&B's sister show, The Young and the Restless, celebrates its 34th anniversary today. (If we're keeping track, Y&R is my age. Dang!)
Congrats to you both, and many happy returns!
