NBC has cast Justin Bruening (ex-Jamie Martin, All My Children) as the lead in a new Knight Rider 2-hour TV movie that, if picked up for the season, could revive the infamous '80 series, which featured Michael Knight and his talking Trans Am, KITT, fighting crime -- and looking foxy while doing it.
As reported in the Hollywood Reporter, the 28-year-old actor will play the son of Michael Knight, the character David Hasselhoff made famous.
The TV movie is being produced by The Bourne Identity director Doug Liman. He also might direct the pilot, if he can fit it not his schedule. NBC is shooting the telepic as a so-called backdoor pilot, meaning if the ratings are solid, it could become a series. No word yet on whether the Hoff will make a cameo in the new TV movie.
