Another Head Writer -- OUT!

One Life to Live has fired its head writer, Dena Higley, and replaced her with her co-head writer, Ron Carlivati. Since becoming head writer in 2004, Higley never quite clicked with fans, and fans were furious for her not coming through on her many promises of different story lines.

In a statement, executive producer Frank Valentini said: "Ron's commitment and contribution to One Life to Live's writing staff makes him an excellent choice to take on head-writing duties. He has a contemporary sensibility, a quick wit and, above all, a tremendous passion for the stories in Llanview."

Hopefully this change will help propel the struggling soap in the ratings, and to bring about more character-driven story lines, as Higley had previously promised.

Tomorrow on Days of Our Lives, don't miss it when Bo and Hope realize that the tunnels under "Doug's Place" might hold a secret from the past.

Tomorrow on Passions, the Blackmailer escapes from the church, and Sam tells Paloma to stay away from Noah.

Also, on The Bold and the Beautiful, Constantine realizes that he is falling for Phoebe, and Rick flips when he finds them in a compromising postition. Also, Taylor puts Bridget in a difficult situation.

Ex-Y&R Star Arrested for DUI

Shemar Moore, who played Malcolm Winters on The Young and the Restless, was arrested early Friday (June 1) morning on suspicion of DUI in Los Angeles. According to TMZ.com:

"The former Young and the Restless star was pulled over after officers noticed the actor speeding near Santa Monica Blvd. at 1:30 AM. After he was stopped, cops reported that Moore, displayed signs of alcohol impairment and a DUI investigation was conducted. Moore was then arrested and transported to a nearby station, where he took a breath test and was later booked. Moore, who currently stars in Criminal Minds, was released a few hours later on $5000 bail. "

Moore is due in court on June 26.

"The Bug" Comes to B&B

(I just couldn't resist using Phyllis' nickname for Cricket!)

While still listed as a recurring character on The Young and the Restless, Lauralee Bell will be reprising her role as attorney Christine Blair when she come to The Bold and the Beautiful beginning June 12 as Ridge's attorney.

There is no word yet on whether her stay in L.A. will be strictly professional or not, but we'll keep you posted as we find out exactly what her role in the lives of the Forresters, et al, will be!

Principal Cast Members of Passions to Make the Switch to DirecTV

Great news for Passions fans. Many of the principal cast members will be following the soaps move over to DirecTV. It has been a concern for many fans that with the switch, and resulting budget cuts, that the show would not be able to afford to keep on many of the regulars. However, in the press release below, you can see that many of the actors will be back:

BURBANK - MAY 23, 2007 -NBC Universal Television Studio has signed principal cast members of the hit daytime drama "Passions" to new contracts, ensuring that they will continue with the soap when it makes the move from NBC to The 101 on DIRECTV on September 17.

Those continuing with the series include: Eric Martsolf (Ethan), Ben Masters (Julian), Kim Johnston Ulrich (Ivy), Dylan Fergus (Noah), Galen Gering (Luis), Emily Harper (Fancy), Lindsay Hartley (Theresa), Liza Huber (Gwen), James Hyde (Sam), Juliet Mills (Tabitha), Heidi Mueller (Kay), Tracey Ross (Eve), Eva Tamargo (Pilar), McKenzie Westmore (Sheridan) and Erin Cardillo (Esme).

"We are thrilled that the principal cast members will continue on the show," said Annamarie Kostura, VP Daytime, NBC Universal. "It is important that the fans know that the show will still be the same after the move."

"We are excited about the news and are busy getting ready to welcome 'Passions' to its new home on DIRECTV.

Based on the rich history and mystery of the harbor community of Harmony, "Passions" explores the lives, loves and losses of four core families: the Cranes, the Lopez-Fitzgeralds, the Bennetts and the Russells, each of whom have their own distinct and diverse challenges and desires.

Cleo Parodied on "SNL?"

I'm about a week behind catching up on my DVR for my primetime shows, so I just watched the "Saturday Night Live" episode from last Saturday hosted by "Scrubs" star Zach Braff. If anyone watched the sketch with the hilarious Fred Armisen playing a receptionist named Melissa who has a crush on Zach, did you wonder if Fred is an "ATWT" fan? Melissa reminded me so much of Cleo Babbitt, Gwen's lookalike who has a crush on Gwen's husband, Will, it was uncanny. Same wig, similar voice and mannerisms - the only thing missing were the huge teeth.
