Joanna Johnson will guest star on two episodes of "The Bold and the Beautiful" as Karen Spencer, executive producer and head writer Bradley Bell announced today. “Joanna has been such a significant part of B&B’s 22-year history,” says Bell. “I am excited to have her back to reprise this role. Karen’s return to Los Angeles after the death of her father, Bill Spencer Sr., will have a dramatic impact on the lives of many characters and will lead the Forresters, Logans and Marones into unchartered and exciting new territory during May Sweeps.”
Johnson recently taped her episodes, which will air on Tuesday, April 28 and Wednesday, April 29. She returns to the role that she played from 1991 through 1994, not her original character, the deceased Caroline Spencer. Karen is Caroline's long-lost twin sister.
In 1994, Johnson left "B&B" to pursue a career on the other side of the camera as a television writer. Using her real life as an inspiration, Johnson created the hit sitcom, "Hope & Faith," (which starred "All My Children" alum Kelly Ripa) based on her life after leaving "B&B." Besides donning the hat of creator, she also served as executive producer on the series.
