Cameron Mathison Dances Again!

Hallmark just announced its 2nd annual Daddy of All Dance-Offs contest, a dance competition that gives dads across the country the chance to be named the Number One Dancing Dad in America. As top dancing dad, Cameron Mathison is helping get dads excited about the competition and will help judge the four finalists in a national dance-off finale. He also offers dance tips and advice so dads can put their best foot (and not their two left feet) forward at www.hallmark.com/movedad.

I think our readers and the dads in their lives have the moves to be named America's Number One Dancing Dad! Dads can submit a 30-second video of themselves dancing to MC Hammer's "U Can't Touch This" at www.hallmark.com/movedad, where they can also find information about local events where they can compete LIVE! The finalist's videos will be posted on June 2 which will allow time for America to vote for their favorite before June 6. Then the finalists will participate in a dance-off finale just before Father's Day.

You can upload your video anytime between May 12 and May 28. The top 10 entries selected by our panel will be featured online. Site visitors will vote for their favorites June 2 through June 6 to determine three winners.

(and the chance to compete in the finals event for $5,000)
• 2nd place prize: $500
• 3rd place prize: $250

Tina Sloan Celebrates 25 Years on GL

Tina Sloan (Lillian Raines) is celebrating her 25th anniversary with Guiding Light this month. Tina joined the show in 1983.

Beth Chamberlin, who has played her daughter, Beth, since 1989, had this to say about Tina: “To say that Tina is the best TV mom anyone could ask for, doesn't begin to touch just how much she has meant to me over the years. She has protected me, mentored me, inspired me and prodded me (I occasionally need this). By her example, she has taught me to be a better actress, friend, and co-worker. She is gracious, elegant and vivacious. I consider it one of the great good fortunes of my life to have been put into her beautiful orbit.”

You can visit
www.guidinglight.net to see a vintage Lillian clip in the Whats News section.

SOAPnet's MVP: The Secret Lives of Hockey Wives

SOAPnet is adding more original series to its slate and will premiere MVP: The Secret Lives of Hockey Wives (working title) on Thursday, June 19. A total of 10 one-hour scripted episodes will air Thursdays at 11:00 p.m. The series, produced by Screen Door Inc., follows the on and off-the-ice drama surrounding the Canadian Mustangs hockey team and the women in their lives.

“SOAPnet will increase its original program offerings this spring and summer. MVP is an intense drama with a great cast and interesting stories,” said Brian Frons, president, Daytime, Disney-ABC Television Group. “Our record-breaking success with General Hospital: Night Shift last year reinforces that our viewers have an insatiable appetite for serialized drama. MVP is the next series to fill that need.”

MVP is a fun, fabulous, sexy drama with a gorgeous cast and provocative stories. We are thrilled it has found a perfect U.S. home with SOAPnet,” says Mary Young Leckie of Screen Door Inc.

The star player dies of an overdose. His pampered wife ends up on the street. Their daughter sleeps with the hot new rookie ... and the season hasn’t even started yet! The series uncovers all the shocking scandal of hockey players living the life of instant wealth, excess and tabloid celebrity, with their girlfriends and wives all joining in the crazy ride. When the uniforms are folded and the gear comes off, that’s when the game REALLY gets interesting.

Welcome to the sexy, scandalous, fabulous world of MVP. The cast stars Lucas Bryant (“Gabe McCall”), Dillon Casey (“Trevor Lemonde”), Mathew Bennett (“Malcom LeBlanc”), Peter Miller (“Damon Trebuchet”), Kristin Booth (“Connie Lewis”), Anastasia Phillips (“Tabbi Schnaare”), Deborah Odell (“Evelyn McBride”), Natalie Krill (“Molly McBride”) and Olivia Waldriff (“Grace Morris”).

B&B's Hunter Tylo Raises Awareness About Epilepsy

Many of you remember the tragic death of Hunter Tylo's (Taylor, The Bold and the Beautiful) son Mickey last October. An epileptic, he drowned after suffering a seizure and falling into the family's pool. He would have celebrated his 20th birthday this past April 24th.

Tylo has joined forces with the newly organized American Epilepsy Outreach Foundation (AEOF) to raise awareness about this neurological disorder that affects more than 3 million people in the United States.

Tylo partnered with the AEOF in memory of her son Mickey. Through its website, http://www.epilepsyoutreach.org/ the AEOF offers information on detecting and treating seizure disorders, first-aid information for someone experiencing a seizure, links to a variety of related resources and an outlet to share personal stories. The organization also distributes first-aid information to schools and other public venues.

Tylo and the founders of AEOF hope to raise $20,000 this month to help support its programs. To make a donation, please visit http://www.epilepsyoutreach.org/.
