Charlton Heston: Movie Star and Soap Opera Patriarch

While he was known to the world as Moses from The Ten Commandments, as well as Judah Ben-Hur from Ben-Hur, many soap fans will always remember him as Jason Colby from Dynasty and The Colbys

In 2002, the actor was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease. On April 5, he passed away at his Beverly Hills home with Lydia, his wife of 64 years, by his side. The cause of death is currently unknown.

Former First Lady Nancy Reagan, wife of former President Ronald Reagan (who died in 2004 from complications of Alzheimer's disease) said that she was "heartbroken" over Heston's death. Reagan released a statement, reading, "I will never forget Chuck as a hero on the big screen in the roles he played, but more importantly I considered him a hero in life for the many times that he stepped up to support Ronnie [Ronald Reagan] in whatever he was doing."

Charlton Heston was 83.
